Position Summary
The Loan Officer is responsible for driving loan growth, developing new business opportunities, and building strong customer relationships within the Bank’s market area. This position focuses on originating and managing a high-quality loan portfolio through proactive business development efforts, community involvement, relationship management, and consultative financial solutions.
Duties
- Develop, originate, and manage commercial, agricultural, consumer, and real estate loan relationships in accordance with Bank policies and lending standards.
- Interview loan applicants, gather financial information, and analyze creditworthiness to determine appropriate lending solutions.
- Structure loan requests and prepare complete loan presentations, including financial analysis, cash flow assessment, collateral evaluation, and risk identification.
- Monitor and manage an assigned loan portfolio to ensure credit quality, timely renewals, and ongoing customer satisfaction.
- Conduct annual reviews, covenant monitoring, and ongoing relationship assessments for borrowing customers.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing credit relationships while maintaining prudent underwriting standards.
- Collaborate with credit administration and other internal partners throughout the loan approval and closing process.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable lending regulations, policies, and procedures.
Business Development and Relationship Management
- Proactively develop new business relationships through networking, prospecting, referrals, and community engagement activities.
- Generate loan, deposit, treasury management, and other banking opportunities to support overall Bank growth objectives.
- Build and maintain a strong referral network of business owners, professional advisors, real estate professionals, and community leaders throughout the market area.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, delivering responsive service and financial guidance.
- Deepen customer relationships by identifying current and future banking needs and recommending appropriate financial solutions.
- Represent the Bank in community organizations, business associations, networking events, and civic activities to enhance visibility and generate new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with retail and commercial banking teams to maximize cross-selling opportunities and provide comprehensive customer experience.
- Retain and grow customer relationships through regular calling efforts, relationship reviews, and exceptional service.
Customer Service and Community Engagement
- Maintain the highest standards of customer service and professionalism in all customer interactions.
- Promote the Bank’s culture, products, and services within the community.
- Participate in and support community events, economic development initiatives, and local organizations to increase awareness and strengthen the Bank’s market presence.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
