Bennington State Bank and Alliance Bank Join

We are excited to share that Alliance Bank will soon be merging with Bennington State Bank! With regulatory approval in hand, this partnership will officially begin on November 16, 2024, and the full transition is expected to be complete by January 2025. Until then, Alliance Bank will continue to operate as usual, ensuring a smooth transition for all our valued customers.

We want to assure you that this change will be a seamless transition, without any disruptions to your current banking experience. Alliance Bank will continue to operate as usual while the transition is in progress.

  • At 5:00 PM on November 15, 2024, Bennington State Bank and Alliance Bank become one! Starting today, we are officially one bank, united in our mission to serve our customers with the highest level of service and customer support.

Friday, January 17, 2025 – Monday, January 20, 2025

  • Conversion Weekend: Alliance Bank branches will close at normal business hours on Fri, Jan 17, 2025 and will remain closed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, January 18 – 20, 2025 during conversion. Our teams will be working throughout the weekend to complete the conversion.

Tuesday, January 21, 2025

  • Alliance Bank branches will reopen at normal business hours as Bennington State Bank branches.

We anticipate account numbers will remain the same. If it becomes necessary to provide you with a new account number, Bennington State Bank will contact you directly.

Yes, your routing number will change when we transition your accounts to Bennington State Bank. To help ease the transition and ensure minimal disruption to our new customers, the Alliance Bank routing number will remain open for a period of time to allow for automatic payments and deposits to be made and changed to Bennington State Bank’s routing number.

Yes, the Topeka location hours will stay the same at this time. We will notify you if the hours change in the future.

There will be no changes to the safe deposit boxes at this time.

I have direct deposits into my Alliance Bank account. Do I need to inform my payor of a change to my accounts?2024-11-07T13:17:34-06:00

After we transition Alliance Bank accounts to Bennington State Bank, your direct deposits (including Social Security, payroll or other ACH deposits) will credit to your new Bennington State Bank account automatically.

I have automatic payments set up to pull from my Alliance Bank account. Will I need to change those?2024-11-07T13:07:31-06:00

No. Your automatic payments and withdrawals will transfer to Bennington State Bank upon conversion in January. The only exceptions are if you have payments set up using your Alliance Bank Debit Card number or through your Alliance Bank online Bill Pay. In those instances, you will need to update information. For Bill Pay, you will need to enroll in Bennington State Bank’s Bill Pay service and set up your payees and payments.

Will I be able to continue to use my Alliance Bank checks?2024-11-07T13:08:50-06:00

Since your checking account number will remain the same after the January conversion, you may continue using your Alliance Bank checks and deposit slips through the end of 2025.  Check orders placed in January and going forward will receive Bennington State Bank checks.

I have an Alliance Bank debit card. Will that continue to work in January?2024-11-07T13:10:17-06:00

You will receive a new Bennington State Bank debit card in early January before conversion. You will continue to use your Alliance Bank debit card until conversion. You may activate your Bennington State Bank debit card upon receipt; however, you will not be able to use it until your account transitions to Bennington State Bank.

Yes. You will receive debit card activation instructions with your new card and a PIN mailer with your new number. You will have the ability to change your PIN to the same PIN you have today when activating your new card.

Will my Alliance Bank online banking account transfer over to a Bennington State Bank online banking account?2024-11-07T13:12:59-06:00

Both consumer and commercial online banking services will transfer. You will receive more detailed information regarding online account access and your User ID and Password in a separate notification. Online access will be suspended for a period of time over the conversion weekend, Saturday, January 17th into Sunday, January 18th.  You will receive communication on the steps you need to take for a smooth transition to the new Online Banking platform.

Can I access Alliance Bank transaction history and copies of past statements and tax documents?2024-11-08T08:57:38-06:00

Please download any needed transaction history, statements, and tax documents from Alliance Online Banking before January 1, 2025. After the conversion in mid-January, these records will no longer be available via online banking. However, you will still be able to contact us to request copies if needed.

What happens to the payees I have set up in Alliance Bank Bill Pay? Will those transfer to Bennington State Bank?2024-11-07T13:14:07-06:00

Bill Pay information will not automatically transfer to Bennington State Bank. You will have the opportunity to enroll in Bennington State Bank’s online banking before the conversion in January. This will allow you to set up your payees and payment information in Bennington State Bank’s Bill Pay system before the conversion takes place.

Will my e-statement or paper statement preference transfer over to Bennington State Bank?2024-11-07T13:15:26-06:00

Yes for now. You will be receiving communications from Bankers Bank of Kansas with information on getting a new card and timing to activate the new card. Your new card will have all the same features that you are accustomed to. You will be issued a new card number.
