Position Summary:
The Mortgage Loan Portfolio Manager is responsible for Loan Pre-Processing duties and assisting Loan Processors with initial file setup and reviewing files for accuracy and completeness while managing a continual pipeline.
Primary Responsibilities:
After receiving Mortgage Loan Application from Loan Officer:
- Assessment of Secondary Market Investor
- Utilize Checklist appropriate checklists for investor and compliance
- Review Application for completeness for submission
- Pull Credit and DU if required
- Initiate required loan documentation from 3rd parties
- Initiates required verifications for customers
- Initiates customer follow up calls
- Order initial Verification of Employment, if applicable
- Update file communication log
- Submit file to Loan Processor
- Works closely with processing team to solve various loan-related issues
Other Job Duties
- Communicate with customers for initial input of loan application and loan file
- Assist Closing Department with post-closing duties, which may include document upload to bank’s document portal, managing Loan Officer ticklers, and other duties as workload permits
- Maintains strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and internal controls specific to your role
- Attends necessary training required to maintain and assure a high level of knowledge in the mortgage loan industry and to maintain any necessary certifications
- Performs all duties with the utmost integrity, honesty, confidentiality and superior level of respect for the applicant/borrower
- Other duties deemed necessary in order to deliver excellent customer service and a high quality delivery of products to both the applicant/borrower and other Bank staff
Required Skills/ Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Well-developed ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- High school graduate or equivalent educational experience
Not required but preferred
- Familiarity with current mortgage lending laws and regulations, understanding of documentation relating to residential real estate lending and conventional financing
- Familiar with mortgage lending file organization and the related documentation associated with mortgage files
- Basic knowledge of the mortgage process, documentation and loan terminology
Physical requirements and working conditions: Sitting or standing for long periods of time, walking, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. Professional office environment. Occasional lifting of storage boxes up to 25 pounds.
