The Bennington State Bank is searching for an experienced, organized, attentive Bank Teller/CSR at our Salina locations to provide exceptional service to our customers by handling routine tasks, such as processing payments, accepting deposits, and handling withdrawals. We have full and part time opportunities available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operates a teller’s window to serve the bank’s customers by:

Accepting retail and/or commercial deposits, verifying cash and endorsements and giving customers their receipts
Identifying customers and cashing checks, or referring customers to an officer for authorization to cash checks
Accepting savings deposits and withdrawals, verifying signatures
Places Holds and Stop Payments
Balances cash daily
Promotes the bank’s products and services; consistently cross-sells bank products at every opportunity
Makes concentrated effort to solve customer problems
Follows teller over/short policy
Promote and maintain positive relations with all contacts, customers and potential customers
Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals
Perform as a team member in allocating and coordinating the work flow
All other duties as assigned

PROBLEM SOLVING:

Incumbent must balance the responsibility of conducting error-free transactions while providing excellent customer service in a rapid and efficient manner. This requires a good level of concentration and an ability to be friendly with the customer while maintaining control over each transaction. The incumbent must be able to identify unallocated teller differences.

PREFERRED APPLICANT WILL HAVE:

Experience in Banking
Exceptional time management, communication, and customer service skills
Knowledge of Windows based software
Ability to use a personal computer
Ability to offer products and solutions that meet customer needs and expectations
Minimum 1 year cash handling experience

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent educational experience

HOURS

Part time hours, less than 30 hours per week, Full Time hours, greater than 30 hours per week. Schedule will be discussed and will be during opening hours, which is between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
